 A townhouse with 3 apartments, totally renovated in 2006 and each accommodating 2/3 persons in comfort. It is located in a quiet, rather steep street, though just minutes away from THE place to be when shopping or eating, both important occasions for Istamboullis who spend a lot of time doing just that.
The apartments are well equipped, southfacing and light, near to tram & ferry stops to visit all the fabulous sights of this magnificent city with a most intriguing and colourful past.
Poppies stayed in the 2nd floor apartment and found it most comfortable though persons with walking difficulties would be better off on the 1st floor.
A tram across the Galata bridge (which in itself is an adventure) to the Haiga Sophia and the Blue Mosque takes around 15 minutes and is a pure delight.
Pop across the world's busiest waterway, the Bosporous, have lunch in Asia and hop on the ferry back.

The area generally used to be the most fashionable Pera district and foreign Consulates and Institutes still line the Istlikal Caddesi. Having come back in fashion again, the street now sports a bewildering number of bookshops, clothes shops, pastry cafés and a myriad of other inviting places selling everything you don't need.
One week will let you see the great Mosques and Topkapi, the fabulous mosaics outdoing even Ravenna in beauty, glorious carpets 900 years old, the Grand Bazaar, eat the most delicious pastries which tempt you every 10 steps, lunch on freshly fried fish sandwiches from the Galata boats (we have never seen faster food) A trip to the King's Islands off the Asian coast is a breath of fresh air after the bustle of Istanbul, up the Bosporous to the mouth of the Black Sea is an alternative.
Whatever you do, it will be a memory for life!
